The digital world can be harsh—with the ability to hide behind a screen people can often loose sight of the person on the other end. The Internet, specifically social media, has gathered a reputation for being a place where general social norms are thrown out of the window and substituted with unguarded and unmediated cruelty. Despite this reputation, 1.78 billion people are using social media today.

 

My project aims to expose the good that is present within social media, specifically through the commenting section. This project aims to showcase the human connection that can be fostered and ignited through commenting. Ultimately, “Social networks are required for the spread of good and valuable things, like love and kindness and happiness and altruism and ideas”.
