These artifacts showcase my writing from the perspective of two different disciplines—English and Communication Studies. The English 225 essay, Jay-Z and Kanye West: Watching The Throne of The Past, Present, and Future serves as an album review, while utilizing close reading and analytical techniques in order to make an argument about the album.

 

 

The three Communication Studies’ essays all discuss an aspect of social media, which inspired my Capstone Project. These essays touch on social media usage and the affect that in can have on users, ranging from a decrease in individuality to a loss of self-esteem. However, the Communications 440 essay highlights the positive benefits of social media which is further investigated within my Capstone Project.
